Hi, I’m Danial. Pleasure to e-meet you!
I am a Bay Area native from Fremont, California currently studying Management Information Systems at San Jose State University. I use data, empathy and collaboration to create solutions to people’s (or my own) problems and try to make the world a little bit less confusing while doing so.
I thoroughly enjoy the process of solving complex problems by researching, learning and connecting with those who have a broader perspective on the issue than I do. I believe a good design must be made for humans by humans and I always find myself blown away by just how unique humans can be!
A bit about how I got here
From making amateur comics and horrible Pokémon YouTube videos with a DS and a dream as a preteen to illustrating and photography as a young adult, I’ve always loved art and creating. I love product design because it exists at the intersection of art, business and technology while allowing me to collaborate with others.
You cannot design a good product without meticulously understanding the people you are designing for. I strongly believe in using user research and data to inform my design decisions and once I know who I am helping, that creative side of me who used to tape phones to my chest to get a less shaky recording takes over and I get lost in the fun.
When I’m not designing or studying I am probably…
Drawing or hiking! or both! and definitely taking pictures!
Working out/playing sports (big football, basketball, hockey and pickleball guy)
Catching the latest Warriors, Niners or Manchester United game (unfortunately 2/3 suck at the moment)
Watching movies (just rewatched Lord of the Rings)
Reading (just started the A Song of Ice and Fire series)
Cooking or annihilating a cappuccino
Learning about fascinating intersections of technology and art such as how machine learning algorithms not CGI are responsible for the iconic blue eyes in Dune: Part Two
Thank you for your time! I hope you have a wonderful day :)
